All studio policies and guidelines can be found here.
Where do the parents go?
Due to limited space, we are a drop-off only studio. Parents do not participate in the session (unless specified in the class description) or wait in the studio. Exceptions can be made if your child requires additional support, behavior monitoring, or an aide. Email info@hotpotatoartstudio so that we can make accommodations. If you would like to stay in the area, there is a yogurt shop and Mexican restaurant next door.
When should I arrive for class?
We open the studio 5 minutes prior to the start of the session. Prior to that, the studio door will be locked as we are unable to supervise children prior to the class session.
What if my child is sick?
We are always bummed to hear that a student can’t make it to class, but we do not offer refunds are class transfers for any reason. If you are unable to make it to class you can transfer your class to a friend. Let us know as soon as possible if you are not able to attend. If we are able to fill the spot from our waitlist, you will receive a class 50% class credit.
What if I’m running late?
Late pick-ups, after ten minutes are subject to an additional fee of $1/minute late. Of course, if there is an accident, construction, etc. we will take that into consideration. Text 480-331-3807 to let us know if you are running late.
What should my child wear?
We love to embrace the art process, which means we might get messy. Make sure that your artist is properly dressed for an art studio. This means wearing comfortable clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting paint on. Smocks are provided. We are not responsible for damaged or stained clothes.
Can I bring water and snacks?
Please bring a water bottle to class, but don’t forget to take it home. You can also bring snacks to camps and longer sessions. We ask that the students eat their food away from the art materials. Make sure to let us know about any allergies during the registration process.
Do you accept ESA funds?
Absolutely! At check-out use the code “ESA.” Upon enrollment we will send you an invoice to submit through ClassWallet. Invoices are sent within three business days. Your spot is not reserved until we have received payment confirmation from ClassWallet.
What does it mean to be on the waitlist?
When a class is full, please join the waitlist. We will do everything we can to accommodate all students who wish to participate. If a spot opens up you will receive a priority email to register. The waitlist does not guarantee your spot. Your spot is reserved once you have registered and paid. We do not hold spots.
What about music?
Art and music go together! We often play a wide range of music from oldies to current pop music, including Taylor Swift and Imagine Dragons.
Do you accept donations?
Yes, we can always use toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, tissue boxes, left over scrap paper, game pieces, buttons, left over fabric. When in doubt, bring it in. If we can’t use it, we will donate it to the Art Resource Center in Tempe.
